At Least 12 Killed During Religious Gathering in India

MOSCOW (RIA Novosti)- At least 12 people were killed and other four were injured in a crowding during a religious gathering in India in the early hours of Saturday, local media said referring to officials.

The tragedy took place in Madhya Pradesh's Ratlam district. Police said the event was weakly organized and called this fact the main reason for the deadly crowding. Four of the dead were women.

"Twelve people got killed. Four injured are being treated. We have announced Rs10, 000 compensation for those killed and Rs5,000 for the injured," Ratlam collector Rajendra Kumar Sharma said.
