An 11-member Nepali delegation led by Home Secretary Sushil JB Rana attended the two-day talk held for the first time in more than two years at this level. Officials from the Nepal 's Law Ministry , Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and intelligence agencies also accompanied their colleagues from the Home Ministry in the meeting.
During the meeting, the two South Asian nations agreed to take strong measures to check cross-border crime, terrorism, human trafficking and drug smuggling, among others.
Issues such as signing updated version of the extradition treaty, Indian air marshals on Nepal 's International Airport and Indian Currency (IC) embezzlement also featured prominently during the meeting, it is learnt.
Deputy Prime Minister Bijaya Kumar Gachedhar, who is also in the Indian Capital, discussed security issues with his Indian counterpart P.Chidambaran Thursday.
In the meeting, Chidambaram expressed India 's wish to sign the pending extradition treaty and mutual legal assistance at the earliest.
He also said that India was positive on fulfilling its pledge to build necessary infrastructures for Nepal Police and provide training to its personnel. -- NNN-NEPALNEWS
