NEW DELHI (NNN-Xinhua) -- Indian foreign secretary Ranjan Mathai will make a visit to the United States next week to hold talks with U.S. officials on the nuclear deal between the two countries, reported local daily The Statesman on Thursday.

A number of other regional issues like the situation in Iran and Afghanistan are also likely to come up for discussion, said the newspaper quoting official sources.

The spokesman of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs Syed Akbaruddin told the media on Wednesday that during the visit from Feb. 6 to 8, Mathai will hold talks with U.S. Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs Wendy Sherman on an "entire gamut" of India-U.S. relations --NNN-XINHUA
