NEW DELHI (NNN-Bernama) -- Fifteen people were killed and two others seriously injured when a train rammed into a van at an unmanned railway crossing in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, a state in the northern part of India. 

The accident, involving the Mathura-Kasganj express train and the van with 17 passengers took place near the Madu railway station at 7.29 am today. 

The Times of India quoted superintendent of police Chandra Prakash as saying that the 15 people were killed on the spot and that the two injured have been admitted to a hospital. -- NNN-BERNAMA
