AHMEDABAD
(NNN-PTI) -- Gujarat Congress has alleged that
"in frustration and desperation" Chief Minister Narendra Modi was
manipulating opinion polls ahead of elections.
"There
is a growing resentment throughout the state against Chief Minister because he
has not done anything for the public in the last 12 years," Leader of
Opposition in Assembly Shaktisinh Gohil said here.
"In
such a situation, he is pumping money into surveys to influence poll outcome by
projecting a positive wave," he added, referring to much-publicised
opinion polls predicting huge majority for Modi in the coming Assembly
elections.
Gohil
compared Modi to former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, who,
Gohil alleged, had spent lot of money to "create a publicity bubble about
his pro-development image" (but lost power).
People
would not be misled by these "publicity stunts" of Modi, the Congress
leader added. --NNN-PTI
