INDIA DRAWS UP PLANS TO SET UP NUCLEAR POWER

COIMBATORE (NNN-Bernama) -- India is planning to set up five nuclearenergy parks across the country with a generation capacity of 10,000 MW, reports Press Trust of India (PTI). 

Atomic Energy Commission Chairman Srikumar Banerjee said the parks, each 

having six to eight reactors, will be built in phases in Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal. 

"The new atomic parks would enhance the country's nuclear energy capacity and strength, he said, adding the new reactors would have top security measures to meet any eventuality. -- NNN-BERNAMA
