KATHMANDU (NNN-NEPALNEWS) -- Nepal's Unified CPN (Maoist) chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Monday remarked that he is not “anti-India” as some portray him to be.
The Maoist chief gave this clarification during his meeting with visiting India leader Vijay Jolly, who is the head of opposition Bharatiya Janata Party’s foreign department, on Monday.
Speaking at a programme in the capital later Monday, the BJP leader informed that during their meeting, Dahal expressed his unhappiness over being perceived as anti-Indian by certain section of the Indian establishment and instead wanted to further strengthen the bilateral relationship between Nepal and India.
He said that Dahal also showed willingness to come on a visit of India after ensuring timely constitution and concluding the peace process in Nepal as per the aspiration of the people.
Jolly said that India and his pro-Hindu party BJP wants to see a peaceful and stable Nepal after the successful conclusion of the ongoing peace process.
He assured India’s continued support for the economic development of Nepal and made it clear that his country is not interested in interfering in any other country’s internal matters. -- NNN-NEPALNEWS
