Norway, UNDP to Support Gender Equality Programmes in Angola

  

LUANDA (NNN-ANGOP) -- The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Norwegian government will support gender equality and women's promotion programmes in Angola through a financial agreement signed here this week.

According to a press statement received by ANGOP, Thursday, the promotion of Angolan women programme would fund Angolan women's networks to implement various gender activities.

The agreement was signed here Wednesday by Norwegian Ambassador to Angola Jon Vea and the United Nations Co-ordinator and UNDP Representative in Angola, Maria do Valle Ribeiro.

The said the funding partners felt it was an appropriate time to promote gender equality in Angola as it was one of the the Angolan government's priorities. -- NNN-ANGOP
