WTO TO REVIEW INDIA'S TRADE POLICY NEXT WEEK

NEW DELHI (NNN-Bernama) -- The World Trade Organisation (WTO) will be reviewing India's trade and economic policies next week in Geneva, according to Press Trust of India (PTI). 

Commerce Secretary Rahul Khullar said that every four to five years, India's trade and economic policies are subjected to review and scrutiny by the entire WTO memberships. 

The last review took place in 2007. The review will be held at WTO headquarters between Sept 14 and 16, Khullar said. 

The results are expected to be announced end of this month. 

Asked about his assessment of the Doha negotiations for opening the global trade, Khullar said, the results could be expected in an incremental way. -- NNN-BERNAMA
