Palestine joins UNESCO

PARIS (RIA Novosti) - The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) voted in favor of Palestine's accession bid on Monday with 107 members in favor and 14 against.

The UNESCO delegates met the decision with a standing ovation.

Russia has repeatedly said it would support Palestinian membership of UNESCO.
