NATO says it has no intention of taking military action in Syria , after closing it's seven-month campaign to protect civilians in Libya
NATO Secretary-General Anders Fogh Rasmussen said Monday the alliance has ruled out any intervention in Syria
He condemned President Bashar al-Assad's deadly crackdown on dissent and urged the government to accommodate what he called the "legitimate aspirations" of the Syrian people.
Assad has warned the international community against intervening in Syria , saying any action would splinter the Middle East .
The United Nations says the death toll from seven months of anti-government protests has topped 3,000. ---VOA News
