KOCHI (NNN-Bernama) -- Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is in a spot with the police here, which registered a case against the actor on Thursday for violating provisions of Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act 1986, Press Trust of India (PTI) reported.

Shah Rukh, who was here on Dec 4 for the inauguration of the showroom, had performed the popular number 'Chamak Challo' from his recently released movie 'RA.One', along with several skimpily clad artistes.

The police said the cases have been registered against Shah Rukh and partners of a textile showroom here, who organised the function, under Section 3, 6 of the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) act 1986 and under IPC sections 294 (obscene acts and songs), and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention).

Ernakulam Judicial First Class Magistrate A Ijas had directed police to register cases against the actor and partners of the private textile showroom after a petition by one Mathew Saju Pulluvuzhi.--NNN-BERNAMA
