PUNE, India (NNN-UNI) -- The condition of Gandhian Anna Hazare is improving, Dr K H Sancheti of Sancheti Hospital, said here today.

Hazare, who underwent several tests after being admitted to the hospital early yesterday, was diagnosed with severe chest congestion.

The number of white blood cells (WBC) has gone up, which indicates lung infection. The oxygen level in his blood is 98 percent which is quite good, though he initially required additional support of oxygen, it was removed last evening, Dr Sancheti said.

The other parameters like blood pressure and blood glucose levels are normal and now there is nothing to worry about Hazare's health, he added.
Hazare, who has hypertension and joint pain, is also suffering from brittle bones. A special test Known as Dexa Scan will be carried out on him this afternoon to determine whether he also suffers from osteoporosis, Dr Sancheti said.

The 74-year-old activist was also suffering from listlessness, and it was difficult for him to sit and talk for long.

Hazare has been advised rest for a month by his doctors and refrained from fasting or carrying out any agitation. – NNN-UNI
