NEW DELHI (NNN-Bernama) -- India has signed a bilateral air services agreement with Trinidad and Tobago, as both the nations decided to bolster their ties in health, culture and education sectors, Press Trust of India reported Saturday.

The pact was inked by Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his Carribean counterpart Kamala Persaad-Bissessar, an Indian-origin leader, who arrived in the national capital Friday.

The Indian Prime Minister said his talks with Persad-Bissessar were "productive" and there was a complete meeting of minds on various issues.

Manmonah also thanked Persad-Bissessar for waiving the visa requirements for Indian nationals visiting this country, adding that this will help further in the development of trade and tourism links.

"The Air Services Agreement that has been concluded would also help strengthen these contacts," Manmohan told the media after the bilateral meeting.

During bilateral talks, Manmohan stressed the interest shown by Indian companies to invest in the energy sector and it was decided that Oil Minister Jaipal Reddy would visit the Caribbean nation in the near future "to further concretize areas of mutually beneficial cooperation", the reports said.

"India's growing energy needs would be met only through imports and would explore ways and means to source LNG from the Caribbean nation," he said. --NNN-BERNMA
