Ground Report--- There is a real answer to healing domestic violence. Marilyn knows from her own complete recovery, that assisting others is effective when it comes from personal experience. In addition, she knows, “Behavioral conduct that is normally addressed in domestic violence is only the tip of the iceberg. It will be recreated with a new partner, unless the origin of the wound is healed. It is a sickness where the individual is acting out the pain of unconscious problems, often from childhood or trauma. Both parties in the co-dependent relationship have excessive neediness for emotional survival. Growing into maturity and wholeness stops the recreation of the cycle with that partner or a future one. Statistically women have a better chance of recovery.

It is time to treat the whole person including emotional and subconscious aspects originating domestic violence and move beyond the current theory of behavioral and surface solutions of therapy. When treating the physical, mental, emotiona, and spiritual components results are effective and long term. Growing into maturity brings a life of happiness, joy and freedom from the insanity of domestic violence. Only, when the root cause and conditions of this condition are addressed and healed is wholeness possible.

The American Medical Association declared addiction, including domestic violence, a disease in 1956; however, this medical condition is not usually identified because of denial. When the police are called, a partner is beaten, or has a broken bone, the denial may possibly be broken.

They both need appropriate help to heal their individual personal woundedness. Below their behavior, dis-ease drives this dilemma; at its roots is a co-dependant soul crisis. They are playing a passive-aggressive game for their very survival. Each personality can be integrated with appropriate holistic counseling methods.

Marilyn shares from her experience of overcoming a thirty year battering and abusive marriage and a childhood of domestic violence. She has discovered the dynamics and found wisdom for recovery.
