NNN--- Myanmar's National League for Democracy (NLD) leader, Aung San Suu Kyi, attired in traditional Karen native dress, receives a bouquet of flowers from a party supporter during her hectic election campaign in Yangoon. Her party, according to a formal announcement April 2, 2012 by Myanmar's Union Election Commission had, of the 45 seats available for contests, won 40 parliamentary seats with 35 seats for House of Representatives, three seats for House of Nationalities and two seats for region or state parliament. The 35 seats include all six won in Yangon region's six constituencies and all four in Nay Pyi Taw constituencies. Suu Kyi won over 85 percent of the votes with 55902-9172 against Dr. U Soe Min, candidate of the ruling Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) and 55902-397 against U Tin Yi, candidate of the Unity and Peace Party (UPP) in Kawhmu township constituency.
