NEW DELHI (NNN-Xinhua) -- Envoys from seven European nations are to visit the northeastern Indian state of Nagaland for three days to explore investment opportunities there, sources said.
"The ambassadors of Belgium, Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia are to visit the state from the Indian capital to see the investment opportunities in the state in areas of infrastructure, power, mineral and information technology. The diplomats will also meet the state's governor and chief minister apart from industrialists," the sources said.
The visit will be in the wake of the Indian government's ''Look East'' policy to boost development in the country's much-neglected northeastern region.
Britain's Prince Andrew recently visited the state to pay homage to those Allied troops killed during World War II in the Battle of Kohima, the capital of Nagaland. His visit was to commemorate the British Queen's 60 years on the throne. -- NNN-XINHUA
