DHARAMSALA, India (NNN-Bernama) -- The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) will confer an honorary doctorate of letters on the Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama at its convocation on September 5, the university's website said. Tenzin Taklha, Joint Secretary at the Office of the Dalai Lama in Dharamsala, said the Dalai Lama will accept the honourary doctorate to be conferred by IGNOU, reports Press Trust of India (PTI).
