DHAKA (NNN-Xinhua) -- Bangladesh-India joint military exercises started Sunday at Zalalabad Cantonment in the country's Sylhet division, some 241 km northeast of capital Dhaka, said a press release.

According to the release of the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) of Bangladesh Army, the 14-day long joint military exercises titled "Exercise Unity-2" will continue till Oct. 22.

A 25-member Indian Army delegation led by Major SY Mahadik is participating in the exercises which are aimed at building further camaraderie between the defense forces of the two neighbors.

The ISPR release said, "the Indian Army team will leave the country on Oct. 23."

Earlier the "Exercise Unity-1" was held at Jorehat in the Indian state of Assam from Nov. 1 to 15 last year in which a 25- member Bangladesh Army delegation took part in.--NNN-XINHUA
