TOKYO (NNN-Kyodo) -- Japan and India agreed Saturday to step bilateral talks forward to conclude a civilian nuclear power pact.

The agreement was reached during the meeting between Japanese Foreign Minister Koichiro Gemba and visiting Indian Foreign Minister Shri S.M. Krishna, according to officials.

The negotiations have been suspended in the wake of the nuclear accident at the Fukushima Daiichi power plant in March. -- NNN-Kyodo
