NEW DELHI (NNN-Bernama) -- After Amitabh Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra, superstar Aamir Khan will be appointed as the national ambassador of United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF).

The 46-year-old actor will be appointed on Nov 30, according to Press Trust of India (PTI).

The actor-producer, known for his films like 'Taare Zammen Par', 'Ghajini', '3 Idiots' and 'Dhobi Ghat', will support Unicef's work in promoting child rights and nutrition of children under two years, PTI quoted a press statement as saying.

The organisation has roped in various international celebrities to support its campaigns around the globe.

Some famous faces include Hollywood stars Angelina Jolie, Jackie Chan, Mia Farrow, Shakira Mebarak, Vanessa Redgrave, Susan Sarandon and football star David Beckham among many others.

Bachchan was appointed a UNICEF goodwill ambassador in 2005 and has since fronted their polio eradication programme successfully.--NNN-BERNAMA
