NEW DELHI (NNN-Bernama) -- Bollywood legendary actor Dev Anand passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest in London on Saturday night.
Dev Anand's romantic movies and melodious Hindi songs touched the imagination of million of fans across the globe since his first appearance in
1946.
"An era has come to an end...Dev Anand leaves a void never perhaps to be filled again...his never give up belief, his joy of life!" tweeted Amitabh Bachchan, another India's popular actor.
The stylish actor was 88 when he breathed his last breath.
During his career, he had acted in over 100 movies and directed at least 35 films.
Some of his much-talked-about hit movies included "Hare Rama Hare Krishna", "Johny Mera Naam" and "Amir Garib".
Dev Anand co-starred along several glamorous Bollywood actresses such as Hema Malini, Rakhee, Parveen Bobby and Zeenat Aman.
After graduating in English Literature he served the army before venturing into movies, making his debut in "Hum Ek Hain" in 1946. --NNN-BERNAMA
