DELHI (PIB News): The President has appointed Justice Rajendra Mal Lodha, as
the next Chief Justice of India. He will assume office from 27th April, 2014. Justice
Rajendra Mal Lodha was born on September 28, 1949 at Jodhpur. His father Justice
S.K. Mal Lodha was a Judge of Rajasthan High Court.
Justice
Rajendra Mal Lodha practiced Law in the
Rajasthan High Court and dealt with all branches of law; Constitutional, civil,
company, Criminal, Taxation, Labour, etc. and he was elevated as a Permanent
Judge of Rajasthan High Court on January 31, 1994. He was transferred to Bombay
High Court where he assumed office on February 16, 1994. He was re-transferred
to Rajasthan High Court where he assumed office on 2nd February, 2007. He had
been Administrative Judge of Rajasthan High Court.
Justice
Lodha was sworn in as Chief Justice, Patna High Court on 13th May, 2008 and he
was elevated as a Judge of Supreme Court of India on 17th December, 2008.
